We’ve now submitted our planning application to North Yorkshire Council, which you can view on the Council’s planning register under reference ZG2025/0733/EIA.Thank you to everyone who shared feedback at the public exhibition and during the consultation. We’ve listened carefully and made a number of changes to improve the proposal. The key updates are outlined below:

Welcome to Whitemoor Solar! This is a proposed solar project near Market Weighton Road, northeast of Barlby, YO8 5LE. The site is located in North Yorkshire.
This site will generate enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 9,090 homes each year. The proposed solar farm will have a capacity of 30MW. In addition, a 10MW battery is proposed which would store excess energy generated during the day by the solar panels. This energy can then be released back on to the Grid when there is higher demand for electricity.
The location was carefully chosen. The flatness of the local area limits views of the site, which is generally well screened with trees and hedgerows. The site does not form part of any statutory landscape designations. No public rights of way border or traverse the site, making it a great spot for a solar farm.
